- First steps
With a background in programming, analysis, and team leading, I joined Devoteam as customer support manager, but as Devoteam partnered with BMC, I devoured everything I could around Remedy and AR, becoming one of the early experts. I undertook many roles in those very early days, covering pre-sales, delivery and even driving the company bus to marketing events! That grounding in service management formed the basis of my future career in Devoteam.
- Career milestones
My roles since have covered all aspects of service management delivery, solution guidance, requirement capture, system design, development and configuration, project management and sales & pre-sales. I had the opportunity to lead, manage and build the service management consultancy team: hiring and growing both experienced and junior staff, which I did for around 10 years. Latterly my focus has been ServiceNow delivery, QA, bid management.
- Everyday life at Devoteam
My focus most recently has been leading Devoteam UK’s ServiceNow engagement. This has been a great time defining our methods, training and delivery approach. It has been great to be back ‘at the coal face’ in front of customers running workshops and managing our projects. I have also spent a lot of time in sales and pre-sales situations, and engaged with peers within ServiceNow and rooting out further business opportunities.
- Personal life
I try to engage in everything I do passionately and thoroughly. Outside work my interests are quite varied – football (I formed and have run a youth football team and club for 12 years), West Ham, bird and animal welfare, hedgehogs, reading and being dad and step dad to three teenagers.
