Service Management is an essential building block of information system management. The two major components are the Service Desk and Infrastructure Management.

The ServiceDesk provides a single point of contact within the organisation to accommodate and centralize requests for service, incidents and change requests. These requests are then processed by the relevant departments in accordance with service contracts.
